I spoke with the DEP today and I am So Glad that we are not going to be taken to the woodshed by these folks.
They have already arrested several boys up the beach doing work on the beach without a permit and they are now in jail with $70,000 in fines so far to date.
According to Sharon Maxwell ( that turtle watch lady to most of you) Walton county went from being the least armored county to the most armored county in the State of Florida in One year.
There is no flying under the radar in Walton county anymore .
The DEP has taken a "special" interest in Walton County.
The county has already stopped issuing permits even to put sand only on the beaches as we are getting to close to Turtle season which is evidenced by the fact that there are already 5 dead sea turtles in Walton county Before Turtle season starts May 1st.

Well, if Walton County has the highest point of elevation in the state at Bella Vita, does it not make sense that our stretch has more need for armoring than most of the rest of the state? I've been to quite a few places in Florida, both east side and west side and with few exceptions we definitely have the highest dunes, and the most need for armoring.
