retreat G-ATE summit update
The Honorable Cindy Meadows our South Walton County Representative, and we are lucky to have her, was there for the County along with three other people from Walton County. Representative Meadows explained that it would send a bad message to other beach owners to allow the work to go forward without proper permits and the County cares more about the beach than that.
Government representatives urged the Retreat to put sand out there to protect the beach and dunes from further erosion but the Retreat did not indicate any interest in pursuing that option.
